Solution Engineer (Global E-Commerce System)
Position Summary:
We are running an e-commerce business expanding beyond Japan into Southeast Asia, Europe,
and the Americas. To meet these needs, development unit is designing a consolidated global
platform with the cooperation and coordination of over 200 people across 10 teams worldwide. As
a solution engineer, you will break down system requirements provided by product managers into
the flow of data between each system in the global platform and propose tasks to be executed by
involved teams. You will engage in discussion with project stakeholders and promote
collaboration to reach a finalized solution that meets the needs of business and the demands of
technology. Ultimately, improving communication flow between various teams in your projects is
your goal to ensure continued progress. This is a position for engineers who love to interact with
people, problem solving through discussion, and can galvanize the efforts of those working with
you.
Responsibilities:
・First point of technical consultation for product managers
・Understand and map the flow of data in proposed features to identify involved teams and divide
responsibilities
・Propose solution designs with the guidance of system technical architects
・Organize discussion among product managers and related development teams to finalize
solution
・Follow-up with project member tasks to ensure continual progress
・Record technical debts to be enhanced in future versions of the product and inform relevant
parties of the future impact such debts impose
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
・5+ years of Web Service Development
・2+ years of API or Database schema design
・1+ years of E-Commerce related requirement definition
・1+ years of development using Agile (i.e. scrum) method
Preferred Qualifications:
・System globalization
・Multi-location development, management, and collaboration
・Project management experience
